Abstract Here, I take alethic views of understanding to be all that hold whether an explanation is true or false matters for provides understanding. then argue there (as yet) no naturalistic defence in cognitive science, because agreement about the correct descriptions content scientific explanations. use this claim provisional acceptance afactivism which view truth falsity cognition irrelevant conclude by discussing relation between science and other domains.
